I did not blog during the Iraq thing. Not that I didn't have anything to say. I don't know what it was. Anyway now that the heavy bombing has stopped, here's what I think.

Too much lying. mr. pres., the seceretary of war, the general at state- all lies. The assault on Iraq was about WMD which did not exist, about al Qeda, ditto, or whatever else they were saying. All lies. Now they do not even pretend they were sincere. They don't care. Someday though, the people will care.

Too much firepower. The most fundamental rule of engagement is measured response. But there is no such thing in the U.S. arsenal. The bombs and missiles are all too big. No matter how precisely they are targeted they do way too much damage, taking out whole city blocks just to hit one house.

Also: those bombs last forever, if they got depleted uranium, and they do. 1991 bombs are still giving kids leukemia and birth defects. Then the cluster bombs. First of all anti personnel, cannot be targeted, and so kill anybody in the area. And then become mines which are picked up or stepped on and are continuing to kill and maim Iraqis
